able to bike

You don't see a single adult guiding these children as they develop their brains through psychomotor and vestibular development

However, without adult decision makers,  children will not have access to this equipment and activity.

1) Decision makers approve

Adults in the room say.....

"Yes, we would like to have balance bikes on the play yard, in our community bike program, after school program.......

We can guide your organization:

1) Examine policies,

2) Examine curriculum,

3) Discuss staff commitment to learn, and help designate staff member(s) for the storage and maintenance

1) Piece by piece over time

2) As one fleet.

3) We'll confirm your needs for helmets, air pumps, wrenches, ramps, storage, racks....

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at kokua@kokuabikesusa.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Children grow up with strong psychomotor skills, balance, and biking is seen as a normal function of living,

Early Childhood Pushbikes (2-3 years old) with KOKUA LIKEaBIKE Jumper 12 with short seat post

PRE-K, JK, through Second grade Pushbikes (3-8 years old) with KOKUA LIKEaBIKE Jumper 14 with medium or long seat post

$990 (Nine hundred and ninety dollars)

One LIKEaBIKe for every 5 children present on the play yard at one time.  Examples: 30 children at recess, get 6.   40 children at one time, get 8.

Example 1: Fleet of 21 LIKEaBIKEs for a Kindergarten through second grade program with 40-60 children per grade level.

Be sure to consider air pump(s), helmets, storage shed.

1) Children will learn the muscle memory needed to balance a pedal bike. (gross motor, vestibular)

2) Children will develop confidence to try riding a pedal bike. (emotional)

3) Children will be enabled to engage in physical activity with others throughout their life. (social)

4) Children will learn to solve problems that arise while biking. (cognitive)

1) Inflate the tires every 2 months.  Rubber is porous, tires with inner tubes loose air over time.  If the tires are run at too low air pressure, the sidewalls of the tires will deteriorate and the tires will eventually need to be replaced.

2) Unless the play yard has thorny trees, your program will likely never see flat tires.

3) Check the handle grips for broken ends.
